F1 helmet under the hammer
Turners is auctioning off the racing helmet Liam Lawson wore at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last year.
The Kiwi, who hasn’t sold any of his helmets to date, qualified third at Baku and finished fifth, and earned the title of New Zealand Minister of Defence.
The Bell HP77 was handmade and features his Visa Cash App RB F1 Team design. Drivers have a lot of input into their helmet design.
Lawson’s is recognised as one of the most interesting. From Maori-inspired motifs to the silver fern and Southern Cross stars of the national flag, it’s a distinctive statement with its vibrant pink and white livery.
Turners has been supporting Lawson’s bid to be a F1 driver since he was 16. The auction runs until 7pm on September 13. Click here for the listing.
