Prancing Horse unveils one-off

A new one-of-a-kind Ferrari built according to the wishes of a single client has been unveiled by the Italian marque.

The HC25 is a mid-rear internal combustion engine V8 model derived from the F8 Spider, from which it inherits its layout, chassis and internal combustion powertrain.

It is from the One-Off series, part of the Special Projects programme, and was designed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni.

It was unveiled by the Prancing Horse brand at the Ferrari Racing Days held at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, United States.

The HC25 has a dual-volume structure in which the front and rear appear as two distinct bodies, joined by a three dimensional central band. This element appears as a functional black ribbon incorporating essential thermal-management components, including air intakes for the radiators and heat extraction for the powertrain.

The proportions of the model have been refined to lower the perceived shoulder line that shapes the car’s silhouette.

At the front, the headlamp has been created specifically for this car, using modules not featured before on a Ferrari. This achieves a slim lens with a central indentation that mirrors the split design of the rear lights.

The daytime running lights also adopt a vertical arrangement for the first time, exploiting the leading edge of the front wings to create a boomerang shape.

The wheels feature a five spoke configuration and a diamond-finished outer rim, with a double recessed groove on the outer channel to make the wheel appear larger.

Special Projects

The Special Projects programme is aimed at creating Ferraris characterised by an exclusive design crafted to the requirements of the client, who thus becomes the owner of a one-of-a-kind model.

Each project originates from an idea put forward by the client and is developed with a team of designers from Ferrari Design Studio.

Once the car’s proportion and forms have been defined, detailed design blueprints and a styling buck are produced before the manufacturing process for the new One-Off begins.

The entire process takes an average of about two years, during which time the client is closely involved in assessing the design and verification phases.
