Chris White is eager for a second shot at the Bridgestone GR86 Championship and says he “can’t wait” until the 2025-26 season begins.

He is the first of the competition’s title favourites to confirm details for the upcoming campaign.

White, who scored two victories and won the rookie title in the championship’s inaugural 2024-25 season, will be racing for Andy Neale Motorsport.

“The series has its challenges with it being a one-make series, so every mistake you make costs you valuable points,” he says.

“I believe it’s the hardest championship to win in New Zealand with all the young talent coming through the sport and through the Hampton Downs Academy.”

White impressed in his debut season and capped it with a GT4 appearance with Tony Quinn in Australia as one of the championship’s best prospects.

“I learned that if you don’t force the issue and play your cards right then the results will come to you if you race with maturity and if you have a fast car beneath you,” he says. “I can’t wait until the season begins.”

The championship runs from October to April with two rounds at Hampton Downs followed by meetings at Teretonga, Highlands, Manfeild and Taupo.
