Wagon enters new generation
Audi New Zealand has confirmed the A6 allroad’s fifth generation is set to arrive in its showrooms from early next year.
The updated model’s body is 11cm wider than the A6 Avant and features alloy wheels up to 21 inches in diameter, adaptive air suspension, all-wheel steering and quattro all-wheel drive
Greg Leet, Audi NZ general manager, says he is looking forward to the arrival of the three-litre V6 TDI with MHEV plus technology.
“The A6 allroad is an icon in the Audi line-up and has always embodied an exceptionally capable vehicle for everyday use with genuine off road credentials,” he adds.
“We are proud to offer a wagon that delivers the space, versatility and confidence many drivers seek in an SUV, while retaining the refinement, performance and on road dynamics that define Audi.”
The A6 allroad has 34mm more ground clearance compared with the A6 Avant, and with the standard adaptive air suspension’s adjustment range of 55m offers a range of off-road capabilities.
All-wheel steering improves manoeuvrability and agility at low speeds by turning the rear wheels up to five degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels. At moderate and higher speeds, the rear wheels turn up to two degrees in the same direction as the front wheels, increasing stability and steering precision.
The centrepiece of the car’s interior is the Audi MMI panoramic display, featuring the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch touch display that will be supplemented by an additional 10.9-inch passenger display.
The digital Matrix LED headlights can be customised via the central display and boast eight digital daytime running light signatures, with the taillight display changing in sync with them.
Comfort features include individual contoured seats with ventilation and massage functions, four-zone automatic air conditioning and an air quality package. The dimmable panoramic glass roof also provides a choice between a light-filled cabin and effective shading.
The A6 allroad combines quattro all-wheel drive as standard to combine performance and efficiency.
In the three-litre V6 diesel engine with 220kW and 580Nm of torque, Audi combines three electrified components: the MHEV plus technology with belt alternator starter and powertrain generator, which delivers up to 18kW of additional power, as well as an electric-powered compressor for direct and fast response.
Full specifications and pricing will be confirmed closer to launch in New Zealand.
