Five stars for new Nissan

The all-new fifth generation Nissan Micra has landed in New Zealand with a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).
The just-released Micra hatchback is fitted with fully autonomous emergency braking and a lane support system with lane keep assist and a lane departure warning.
It achieved a score of 91 per cent for adult occupant protection and scores of 79 per cent for both child occupant protection and pedestrian protection.
AA Motoring Services general manager Stella Stocks says it’s great to see Nissan bring in a new vehicle in the small car class, which is both five-star safety rated and at an affordable price point.
“Nissan has been bringing in SUVs and utility vehicles with good safety features over the past few years, so it’s really pleasing to also see them bring in a safe, new option for motorists who prefer a smaller vehicle.”
The Micra has a 5-speed manual transmission with an 898cc turbo-charged 0.9 litre DOHC petrol engine. It is priced from $22,990 plus on-road costs.
