Monkeys enjoy motor mayhem

Horror tales or footage of monkeys ripping off windscreen wipers, wing mirrors and other parts of cars at safari parks around the world have long been commonplace.

The curious creatures are renowned for their destructive habits as tourists try to enjoy a close encounter but how many of those visitors wonder what the animals do with all those parts.

Well, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) pondered such a question in 2009 when it produced the hilarious video below.

Boffins at the global engineering organisation seem to think the primates are not wrecking vehicles just for the sake of it and possibly have a plan to create their own cars.
