Marque showcases hybrid SUV

KGM is considering adding the Torres Hybrid to its New Zealand line-up but will first assess feedback from visitors to Fieldays where the model has been on show.
A European market preview of the SUV has been part of the brand’s display at the four-day agricultural event at Mystery Creek, near Hamilton, which runs until June 14.
Inchape, the New Zealand importer and distributor of KGM vehicles, says Fieldays has allowed Kiwi consumers to get a look at the model.
KGM will gauge local interest and feedback before deciding whether to sell the vehicle here.
Kym Mellow, general manager, Inchcape New Zealand, says: “This is a great opportunity to introduce hybrid into the Torres family and show where KGM is heading.
“We’re looking to grow our powertrain options, and hybrid is a key part of KGM’s global shift toward electrified mobility. Fieldays provides an ideal platform to assess local interest.”
KGM already offers petrol and fully electric Torres EVX models in New Zealand. If the Hybrid is added to the line-up, it is expected to pair a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor.
A team representing the South Korean brand has been at Fieldays for the second consecutive year and other models on display over the past few days have included the Rexton Sachi, Musso and Musso Grand Adventure.
