Mazda has confirmed its all-new CX-6e, which was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show last week, will be launched in New Zealand towards the end of 2026.

The SUV has a driving range of 484km. Its 78kWh lithium iron phosphate battery powers a rear-mounted motor that develops 190kW and 290Nm of instantly accessible torque for responsive control and linear acceleration.

It features a suite of technology and convenience features. The smart cockpit centres on a 26-inch touchscreen with a customisable dual-split layout that provides passengers with access to a wide range of information without distracting the driver. It’s complemented by a large head-up display that overlays navigation guidance onto the road ahead.

The company says the CX-6e elevates its “kodo – soul of motion design language into the future of electric mobility”.

Its extended 2,90mm wheelbase and short overhangs disguise its versatile load-carrying capabilities with 468 litres of luggage space available when all seats are upright.

The SUV’s sleek profile conceals a spacious cabin. Inspired by the Japanese concept of “ma, the beauty of empty space”, it offers generous head, leg and shoulder room for all occupants. Further details on equipment, technical information and pricing will be available closer to its launch here.
