There were 3,052 new commercials registered last month, an increase of 9.4 per cent when compared with 2,789 in February 2025. 

Ford’s Ranger was the best-selling model in February with 761 units, up 44.7 per cent from the 526 units sold in the same month a year ago. 

Next was the Nissan Navara, pictured, on 411 registrations, a year-on-year increase of 149.1 per from 165, and Toyota’s Hilux was third with 297 sales.

The Mitsubishi Triton and Ford Transit completed the top five with 259 and 141 sales respectively.

The Ranger leads the year-to-date standings with 1,448 registrations and a 24.9 per cent share of the market.

In second place is the Navara on 815 and 14 per cent, and the Hiace is third on 515 units and 8.9 per cent.

The market’s overall year-to-date total stands at 5,814 units.

On the marques’ ladder, Ford was top in February with 907 registrations, up 43.1 per cent from 634 a year ago, and a market share of 29.7 per cent.

Toyota was next on 569 units, down 27.4 per cent from 784 in February 2025, and Nissan was third on 411.

Ford is top of the year-to-date charts with 1,680 registrations and a market share of 28.9 per cent. Toyota is second with 1,053 and 18.1 per cent and Nissan completes the top three on 815 and 14 per cent.

Hiace dominates used market

As for used-imported commercials, the 353 units registered in February was down three per cent from 364 in the same month last year. This brings the year-to-date total to 742.

Toyota’s Hiace was the leading model last month on 145 registrations and a market share of 41.1 per cent.

Next were Nissan’s NV350 and NV200 after they both recorded 19 sales. The Hino Dutro with 13 and Nissan Caravan on 12 completed the top five.

Year to date, the Hiace has notched up 280 sales for a 37.7 per cent market share, and Nissan’s NV200 is second on 44 units and 5.9 per cent.

Toyota was the top marque last month with 145 registrations, a 31.6 per cent decrease from 212 a year ago. It was followed by Nissan with 63, Ford on 27, Fiat with 25 and Hino on 22.

Year to date, Toyota has 1,584 registrations and a 41.5 per cent market share. Nissan is next on 748 and 19.6 per cent, with Hino third on 251 and 6.6 per cent.
