Ebbett to create automotive village

Company announces plans to bring nine brands across two dealerships into a purpose-built site.

Ebbett Automotive has announced plans to move two of its dealership groups, which represent nine brands across four sites, to a purpose-built automotive village in Tauranga.

The new site in Tauriko will become home to Ebbett Tauranga, which represents Hyundai, Isuzu, BYD, Forthing and Foton across two locations in the city, and Ebbett Prestige Tauranga, which sells Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, Volvo and Polestar models at two Mount Maunganui locations.

Ebbett Automotive says next year’s relocation and consolidation of the dealerships into a single, custom-built destination is happening because both groups have outgrown their existing sites.

“Tauranga is an important part of the Ebbett family and this investment reflects the value we place on the people who trust us with their cars, their families and their time.

“We’re building a home in Tauriko that’s designed around care, around excellence, and around the relationships we hope to have with our customers for a lifetime, not just a single purchase.”

The venture will bring together nine brands across two businesses, offering an expanded showroom experience and significantly larger service facilities than either team presently has access to.

The new automotive village is expected to open in late 2027 with Ebbett Tauranga located at 409 Taurakura Drive and Ebbett Prestige Tauranga at 180 Kaweroa Drive.

Ebbett notes its current Tauranga sites at 123 Cameron Road, 115 Third Avenue, 115 Hewletts Road and 107-109 Hewletts Road will continue to operate as normal until the move.
