Compact package hits market

Subaru of New Zealand has announced the local arrival of the new Subaru Crosstrek All-Wheel Drive 2.0-litre petrol variant, which it describes as a “value-packed option for fleet and corporate buyers”.

The compact SUV is priced at $43,990 and boasts redeveloped seats to reduce head sway and make journeys more comfortable for every passenger.

The Subaru XV was launched into the small SUV category in 2012 before being reinvented and rechristened in 2023 as Crosstrek.

The latest edition to hit the New Zealand market is available only with a two-litre Boxer four-cylinder engine.

It also features a centre information display with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus wireless smartphone charging.

It has symmetrical all-wheel drive and 220mm ground clearance, while safety features include crash-avoidance technology and a driver monitoring system.

Kym Mellow, general manager of Inchcape, distributor of Subaru in New Zealand, says the latest Crosstrek model offers value in a compact package.

“We envision this variant appealing to our fleet customers, who want to look after their staff with a safe, all-wheel drive SUV that’s going to get them where they need to be for work during the week and also able to access any adventure destinations they have planned for the weekend,” he adds.
