Wellington reigns supreme
Lexus of Wellington has been named supreme winner at the 2026 Lexus Business Excellence Awards, which recognise outstanding performance.
The honours celebrate the marque’s dealerships and Toyota stores across New Zealand that consistently deliver excellence in leadership, customer experience, sales, service and community engagement.
Andrew Davis, vice-president of Lexus NZ, says: “The awards are about our teams. Every dealership represents the brand in its own community and the standard is high across the country, so to be recognised at this level is significant.”
Lexus of Wellington was selected from a strong group of finalists including Lexus of Hamilton and Lexus of Hawke’s Bay.
The sales and marketing award was awarded to Lexus of Christchurch, recognising its strength in connection with customers while representing the brand within its region.
“Lexus of Wellington had a standout year,” says Davis. “It has transitioned into a new home, hosted the Lexus Design Award as we expanded into the capital, and continued to create events and partnerships that connect with its community.
“Opening a new facility is one thing, but what stands out is how quickly the team has embedded the Lexus experience into the space. It’s more than a building. It’s about the people inside it and the culture created for customers.”

The Lexus Supreme Award reflects excellence across new and used vehicles, finance, parts and service, people, facilities, environment, profit and standards, and the consistent delivery of the marque’s “promise to experience amazing”.
“It’s not just about sales. It’s about how our customers feel when they walk through the door, how they’re supported throughout their ownership journey and the trust that builds over time. That’s omotenashi [hospitality] in practice – anticipating our guests’ needs and creating an environment where they feel welcomed.”
The 2026 awards come as Lexus grows its electrified range and expand its presence nationwide. “As we evolve the brand, the role of our dealerships becomes even more important,” adds Davis.
Looking ahead, the marque aims to continue building momentum into this year, including its sponsorship of NZ Design Week and a major presence at Lexus Urban Polo in Auckland’s Domain where the all-new RZ featuring New Zealand’s first yoke steering with steer-by-wire technology will be on display.
Later in 2026, the marque will launch its first vehicle with Lexus Connected Services in the all-new ES.
