Strong month for Lexus

Lexus claimed four of the top five best-selling models in its segment during June and finished a close second in New Zealand’s overall luxury marque sales.

With 210 year-to-date registrations, including 188 hybrid models and 22 Morizo RR editions, the LBX is currently this year’s best-selling luxury model in this country.

“Since launching here just over a year ago, the LBX has quickly made its mark and now tops the luxury sales chart, demonstrating its strong popularity in the market,” says Andrew Davis, vice-president of Lexus NZ.

The UX, NX and RX also featured prominently in last month’s top five, “showing the brand’s strength across luxury SUVs”.

Davis adds the strong result is particularly pleasing given the current economic climate and reflects increasing local recognition for Lexus as a brand.

“Lexus is resonating with buyers, whether they’re looking for the compact innovation in the LBX or the space and refinement of the RX and NX. To have four of the five top-selling luxury vehicles in June shows the trust customers are placing in our brand and the strength of our SUV line-up.”

Across the first half of 2025, Lexus holds second place in overall luxury marque sales, with 788 units sold compared to BMW’s 937 and ahead of Mercedes-Benz on 740.

“We’re seeing a growing appetite for hybrids that blend technology, craftsmanship and design,” says Davis. “We’re grateful to our customers and dealer network for their continued support and appreciation of what Lexus stands for.”
