Car enthusiasts have an opportunity to learn the art of driving fast vehicles amid a winter wonderland when the BMW M Snow & Ice Experience returns later this year.

The event, which last ran in 2024, will be held from August 4-12 at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground between Queenstown and Wanaka.

Multiple tiered packages are available for groups or individuals to attend a full day of driving on snow and ice, fully supervised by globally certified instructors.

Experiences include motorkhana, drag sprint, barrel race and drifting using the latest BMW M high-performance road cars. A high-speed passenger ride with an instructor aboard an M3 completes the day.

The instructional element of the event is designed to improve skills for all driver levels while having safety as the number-one priority.

The premium and luxury packages include snow-bus transfers to the proving ground and a BMW M jacket. The latter also offers a one-way helicopter transfer and two nights at Millbrook Resort, Arrowtown.

The BMW M Driving Experience was established by in 1976 as a “world first among automotive manufacturers and is renowned around the globe”. Click here for more information about the BMW M Snow & Ice Experience.
