Collecting Cars continued its strong run of sales during April with the online auction platform exceeding its record March result.

It sold 105 lots, totalling more than A$8 million, or about NZ$9.8m. Its year-to-date sales now exceed A$32m, which is A$5m more than this time last year.

The company’s latest heritage number-plate sale, the 12th in its ongoing auction series, contributed to the strong April result.

Highlights in New Zealand included a 2021 Aston Martin Vantage Heritage Racing Edition, pictured, at NZ$183,000, a 2007 Porsche 911 (997) Turbo, which fetched NZ$196,888, and a 1975 Porsche 911 S – 3.2 Conversion for NZ$100,000.

Across the Tasman, the NSW heritage number plate “32” sold for A$1.4m, a Nissan Skyline (R34) GT-R V-Spec II went for A$347,650 and a 2022 Chris-Craft Catalina 34 made A$450,000.

Alessandro Birighitti, sales operation specialist, says: “Collecting Cars has accelerated through the first four months of 2026, indicating strong market confidence by both buyers and sellers of collectibles.”
