General Motors has revealed two new vehicles will join its all-electric line-up on both sides of the Tasman leading into Cadillac’s inaugural Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne this weekend.

With the Optiq, pictured above, and Vistiq joining the Lyriq, the company now offers buyers down under three all-electric luxury SUVs.

Jess Bala, GM’s managing director of Australia and New Zealand, says the launch of the two models marks the next phase of Cadillac’s expansion in both countries.

“The Optiq and Vistiq will provide owners a premium driving experience with stand-out design and a next-level sound system. Both feature an AKG Studio audio system with Dolby Atmos capability.

“The larger Vistiq [pictured below] boasts a 23-speaker full-surround sound set-up, and the Optiq provides a rich listening experience via its 19 speakers. Active noise-cancelling technology provides passengers with an immersive experience that adapts to the cabin’s unique acoustics.

“These premium EVs are designed from the ground up to be both electric and effortlessly luxurious for every passenger.”

Both models deliver owner centric technology via Cadillac Connected Services 2 and the myCadillac app, enabling convenient pre-conditioning of the cabin climate, monitoring of charging status and access to an intelligent trip planning tool.

Technology integration continues inside where owners can choose between a fully integrated Google built in experience or Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via compatible smartphones. Owners get Cadillac Connected Services complimentary for eight years.

Bala says the Optiq, which starts at $90,000 including GST and excluding off-road costs, brings “bold design, intuitive and artfully integrated technology, as well as dynamic acceleration and performance, to a new generation of buyers in the compact luxury SUV segment”.

The three-row Vistiq, meanwhile, complements Cadillac’s EV range with its “more spacious, family-focused, luxury SUV” for customers who want electric driving combined with comfort, interior flexibility and road presence. The Vistiq is priced from $120,000.
