Marque’s design overhaul
Omoda Jaecoo has revealed its next generation of products, headlined by the Omoda 4 acting as the entry-level model into the range.
This small SUV, pictured, adopts the brand’s new “cyber mecha” design philosophy, which features a futuristic mech-inspired exterior in a “rethink” on conventional ideas.
From sharp front lights and angular side lines to the mechanically detailed rear, “every element combines to create an SUV that looks like no other”.
This extends into the cabin, where the 4 supports immersive in-car entertainment and allows personalised customisation enabling users to integrate creativity and preferences into the vehicle.
Building on the success of the marque’s super hybrid system (SHS), the Omoda 5 is the next model to receive this green technology.
While the Jaecoo J7 SHS and Omoda 9 SHS run a plug-in hybrid set-up, the Omoda 5 SHS-H will be a series-parallel hybrid that delivers a 0–100kph time of 7.9 seconds, power output of 165kW and a WLTP range of 1,000km.
The larger Omoda 7, meanwhile, is equipped with the latest automatic parking assistance (APA) system. Already seen on the Jaecoo J8 and Omoda 9, the next iteration of APA now supports more than 1,000 different parking scenarios. The car can intelligently identify the environment and autonomously complete entry and exit manoeuvres.
There’s also remote parking assistance. This allows drivers to step out of the vehicle and use the key remote to guide it in or out of tight parking spots with precision.
