Leapmotor’s growing presence

Leapmotor has expanded its presence in New Zealand to seven dealerships a year after launching here.

The Chinese brand says the expansion programme has increased accessibility to its electric vehicles, such as the C10 and B10 SUVs, for Kiwi consumers.

Its models are available through Armstrong’s dealerships in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, as well as at Takanini Auto Group, Auckland Auto Group in Albany, Waikato Auto Group in Hamilton, and Tauranga Motor Group.

The news comes as Leapmotor, which is distributed locally by Auto Distributors New Zealand, celebrates the B10 achieving a five-star safety rating from ANCAP that applies to the Life and Design variants.

Under ANCAP’s 2023-2025 protocols, the small SUV performed well across adult occupant protection and safety assist, while its 95 per cent child-occupant-protection score equals the highest result recorded under the current criteria.

Leapmotor explains the B10, pictured, also continues to evolve through over-the-air software updates, with the latest enhancements including improved regenerative energy recovery, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and extra steering wheel customisation.

Other user experience improvements include a quicker infotainment start-up sequence and optimisation of adaptive cruise control and lane centring control.

Brian Carr, Auto Distributors NZ’s general manager of sales, says: “Leapmotor has listened to customer feedback and delivered meaningful improvements across multiple areas, making a compelling package even stronger.

“The five-star ANCAP result is further validation of the B10’s credentials and the expanded dealer network ensures more New Zealanders can experience the brand first-hand.”
