Leader extends advantage

Lee Zeltwanger holds a 60-point advantage over his closest rival in the Toyota 86 Trophy Series with only one round remaining in the competition.
He increased his grip on the inaugural series after he and his Skunkworks team took overall honours in the third round at Manfeild – Circuit Chris Amon with two wins and a second on July 5-6.
Zeltwanger’s successful two days produced a standout performance when he drove through the field from the back of the final race’s reverse grid to take the chequered flag.
Harry Townshend won race two of last weekend’s action to extend his lead in the Winter Class for Bridgestone GR86 Championship drivers.
Ajay Giddy hit a tyre barrier in Saturday’s race but came back strongly the next day and steered his Mackenzie Motorsport car to third place in race two and second in race three.
Corban Sprague is second in the series overall after scoring two fourths and a sixth in Manfeild.
Matt Day sits third overall after a hat-trick of fifth-place finishes in Manawatu, while Nathan Grammer’s third on Saturday and fourth in Sunday’s second race keeps him fourth in the standings.
The title will be decided when the series is completed with the fourth and final round at Taupo International Motorsport Park on July 26-27.
