Kiwi auctions set record
Two Ferraris were among the top lots in New Zealand as an online auction platform recorded its highest single month of sales in this country.
Collecting Cars says it experienced rapid market growth in New Zealand in March as the company’s sales totalled more than $2 million.
Highlights from the auctions included a Ferrari 512 BBi, pictured, selling for $550,000, a Ferrari F355 Spider fetching $387,500 and a Subaru Impreza STi 22B going under the hammer for $350,000.
The results came as the platform, which specialises in classic, performance and collectible cars, sold 102 lots across New Zealand and Australia last month.
The total value of those items was A$10.5 million (about NZ$12.8m), an increase of six per cent from the same month of last year.
Year-to-date sales for the company were A$24.3m, some A$5m more than during the first three months of 2025.
Collecting Cars notes the average sale price also passed A$103,000 in March, the highest since it started operating on both sides of the ditch in 2019.
Lee Hallett, head of Asia-Pacific, says: “Car enthusiasts and collectors in Australia and New Zealand continue to confirm the health of the local collector car market.
“Our local auction sales results from March again show that collector cars remain in demand.”
