‘Huge’ ad campaign coming

Auto Trader is gearing up to launch what it describes as a “huge increase” in advertising spend.

The company’s biggest such campaign gets under way on September 1 with the aim of driving more Kiwis looking to buy and sell a car to its listings platform.

“This significant increase in advertising will gain greater visibility, attract more leads, increase traffic and ultimately achieve stronger sales for your dealership all the way into 2025,” it says in an email alert to industry.

Auto Trader will be appearing “everywhere”, such as on the radio and television, Google Ads, YouTube, TikTok, at the movies and more.

It says now is the perfect time to sign up “to get ahead” before the marketing campaign launches next month and with the website recording a 165 per cent year-on-year increase in July dealer leads.

“Sign up with Auto Trader now to attract more buyers, boost sales and stay ahead of the competition when demand peaks,” adds the email alert.

The company, which is owned by Optimus Group NZ Ltd, adds it has been receiving more than 4.8 million page views, 247,000-plus users and a 64 per cent jump in users from 2023 with each one visiting 27 pages.

Auto Trader’s dealer dashboard is also now live. It has been “designed to give you complete control over your listings. With it, you can monitor performance metrics, track views, user behaviour and much more”. For more information, email dealersupport@autotrader.co.nz.
