Houseplant clinches car sale

At a time when the car industry here is tackling how to green the fleet, a dealership in the US has taken it to extremes by giving a customer a giant houseplant with her new vehicle.

JC Lewis Ford in Savannah, Georgia, has posted on Facebook how when Jash Cartrette came to its car yard to buy a Chevy Tahoe she walked away with much more.

Ethan Lesondek, salesman, says: “We got to the drawing table and started pencilling the numbers and usually nine out of 10 customers will ask for some free gas or something a little extra.

“She went straight for the plant. She was eyeing it throughout the entire negotiation process. Kept looking at it.”

WJCL News reveals that Cartrette really liked the car but she loved the greenery at the business and told Lesondek: “I’ll take the car if you give me the plants.”

A Facebook post from the dealership about the unusual trade has gone viral and spurred other customers to ask for plants with their vehicle purchases.
