Honda unveils new EV range

Honda has announced plans to launch six next-generation electric vehicles (EVs) in China by 2027, with a new Ye Series range being developed to help it catch up with its rivals when it comes to zero-emissions models.
The first offerings, the Ye P7 and Ye S7, will both be SUVs and are due to be in Chinese showrooms by the end of 2024 .
A series of production models based on a Ye GT Concept are scheduled to hit the market before the end of 2025.
The Japanese carmaker adds it hopes to introduce a total of 10 Honda-brand EVs in China by 2027 and for zero-emitters to make up 100 per cent of its sales there by 2035.
Honda has lagged behind rivals such as Volkswagen, Toyota and Tesla in increasing EV sales and is focusing on China, where such vehicles accounted for nearly one-third of the 30.1 million new-vehicle sales in 2023.
