High demand for SUV
Kia dealers around the country are reporting an unprecedented response to the fifth-generation Sportage in advance of its official local launch.
“We were quietly confident we were onto a winner with the all-new Sportage, but the response from Kiwis has been beyond our expectations,” says Todd McDonald, managing director of Kia NZ.
“A huge number of customers have taken advantage of pre-launch pricing and have secured themselves a great deal.”
The all-new Sportage will launch with the LX two-litre two-wheel-drive (2WD) petrol variant with other models to follow shortly after.
As was the case with the Seltos and Stonic launches, a strong introductory price offer supported the model’s arrival in this country.
“We will maintain the special offer of $34,990 for the LX 2.0-litre 2WD petrol through to the end of this year,” adds McDonald. “However, there is a revision on all other models from December 1.”
The all-new Sportage, pictured, is an evolution of the previous model with its new technology, enhanced safety and improved interior space for all occupants.
It features revised styling, increased proportions and, as with all other Kia passenger vehicles available for sale in New Zealand, comes with a five-year warranty and five-year roadside assistance as standard.
“The Sportage is synonymous with Kia, and epitomises the ongoing development and transformation of the brand,” says McDonald.
“From a size and dimensions perspective, the Sportage has grown markedly compared with its predecessor.
“It’s a well-thought-out package with regards to interior space and provides for enhanced leg and head room for all occupants, as well as increased luggage capacity.
“I’m confident it will be welcomed by Kiwis who desire the size, specification and versatility of the most popular model in our range.”
