Flagship Octa launched
Jaguar Land Rover NZ has revealed All Black Beauden Barrett as a Defender brand ambassador at the launch the new Octa flagship.
The Octa, which is priced at $309,900 or $339,900 for the Edition One, is an extreme off-road version of the Defender.
Developed over three years, it's the only Defender to have the BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine for a 100kph time of four seconds.
The chassis has been re-engineered for more extreme off-roading with a 68mm wider track and 28m extra ride height. The new 6D adaptive suspension virtually links all four corners of the car and Brembo brakes.
The Octa Edition One is available for the first year of production. It boasts 20-inch forged alloy, an exclusive green exterior colour, and khaki and ebony ultrafabrics.
Then there’s the “chopped carbon fibre” detailing, which includes raw recycled materials, on the bonnet script, bonnet-fender vent surrounds, front seatbacks and centre console trim.
