Dealership teams up with JAC

Bay European in Napier celebrated its first anniversary in a newly refurbished showroom this week by securing a franchise deal with commercial ute brand JAC.

Until now the dealership has sold used vehicles, specialising in late-model European cars, but will now also represent the Chinese marque as Hawke’s Bay JAC.

Tim Murphy, dealer principal, says he “couldn’t be more chuffed to be celebrating not only one year in the newly refurbed showroom, but to also be welcoming our first OEM brand into the same location”.

He notes these achievements wouldn’t have happened without the support of the company’s local customers, friends and family.

Bay European has been operating in Hawke’s Bay since 2021 and is part of the wider ABM Group of companies, which has been involved in motor, equipment, finance and leasing markets since 2007. 

The business shares its Prebensen Drive, Onekawa, site with Hollywood Motors and there is a six-bay workshop to support servicing needs.

Andrew Craw, JAC New Zealand general manager, says partnering with the Bay European team is a milestone for the brand, which has the T9 ute and a range of electric and diesel light trucks in its local line-up.
