Arrest for driving toy Barbie car

An alleged drink-driver was arrested by police after being caught driving a brightly coloured toy Barbie car through the streets of a Canadian city one morning.
Kasper Lincoln was pulled over in British Columbia’s Prince George after being spotted by an officer at about 9am on September 5 crammed into the vehicle designed for children.
He told police the battery-powered toy belonged to his housemate’s daughter and he had borrowed it to go buy a slushy drink, reports the Daily Mail.
Lincoln was taken into custody after failing two breath tests and banned from driving for 90 days.
The Prince George Royal Canadian Mounted Police say the toy’s lack of insurance was cause enough to arrest the man but they also wrote on Facebook, “if it has a motor, you’d better be sober”.
Corporal Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer, adds: “While it might seem to some to be an inefficient use of police time to pull over a driver in a toy car, the risk the driver was creating to other motorists on the road who were forced to go around him, coupled with the risk to himself as other drivers are not in the habit of looking for toy cars on the busy road, was enough to warrant police attention.”
